Senior Manager of National Business Development

Garney Construction is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to lead spearheading our business development strategy and initiatives across the US. The successful candidate will have significant water and wastewater experience and a deep understanding of the markets. They will understand the technology and engineering involved in water and wastewater and command of alternate project delivery methodology and its implementation.  They will be capable of leading, developing and training Garney’s business development team.     

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Support development of the overall market business plan, market strategies, client engagement strategies to advance the company’s growth plans.
  • Develop, train, and support regional business development managers in techniques, processes, and approaches to finding and developing leads / opportunities.
  • Provide leadership and direction in development and execution of company marketing, advertising, and branding plans, in collaboration with corporate marketing staff, including plans for national conferences, events, and industry networking
  • Develop relationships in the market (Client/Engineer/Subcontractor/Vendor/Peer) and expand the recognition of the Garney brand and our capabilities.
  • Works closely with Garney teams to develop and execute strategies and new methods for introducing Garney to prospective clients
  • Support development of proposals for services in response to invitations to submit by providing guidance to proposal team from inception to completion. 
  • Works collaboratively with Garney team members to: strategize, present, and demonstrate tailored solutions demonstrating Garney’s’ capabilities to national business partners/relationships.
  • Ability to teach and coach development of polished presentation / interview skills.
  • Participation and leadership roles in industry organizations such as the AWWA, DBIA, WCDA, WEF and others as applicable.
  • Establishes and maintains client contacts and develops business development strategy. Strengthens current business ties; coordinates meetings between clients/potential clients.
  • Investigates and understands the internal business processes of potential and key buying personal and can discuss relevant business challenges for each.
