GARNEY
A Risk Coordinator - Claims position is available at Garney. A Risk Coordinator – Claims ensures claims are properly reported, documented, tracked, and resolved while coordinating with operations, insurance adjusters, and other involved parties. This role maintains claim records, assists with investigations, and serves as the primary liaison throughout the claims process to facilitate timely and effective claim resolution.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Coordinate and support the end-to-end claims process, from initial reporting through resolution
- Review and maintain claim documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements
- Track open claims, follow up on outstanding items, and support timely claim closure
- Communicate with our broker, insurance adjusters, operations, legal, and claimants regarding claim status, documentation, and updates
- Assist with claim investigations, information gathering, and resolution efforts
- Track claim status, reserves, payments, invoices, recovery opportunities, and key deadlines
- Maintain claims data, logs, reports, and supporting records to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely updates
- Provide guidance and support to operations on claims matters, assisting them through the claims process
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A minimum of one to two years of experience in commercial insurance is required
- Claims handling or relevant experience is preferred
- Collaborative - works well with others in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptable - ability to adjust to different conditions/circumstances
- High level of motivation - a self-starter willing to go the extra mile
- Excellent organization and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple claims, deadlines, and requests
- Problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Ability to handle sensitive claim information with professionalism and confidentiality
