As Safety Manager position in Phoenix, AZ at Garney Construction, you will be responsible for ensuring safety is the number one priority on our water and sewer pipeline projects.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Key responsibilities include, implementing and enforcing Garney health and safety policies and procedures. Conducting site safety inspections, assuring compliance with OSHA 1926, and other applicable regulations, investigating incidents, providing employee training, and fostering a proactive safety culture. The Safety Manager will collaborate with project team to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and promote overall workplace safety. Communicates safety philosophies and values of the Company with project team members, to ensure understanding, compliance and acceptance of the Garney’s Safety Process and policies.
A strong background in construction safety, safety training along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, is essential for success in this position.
- Review, implement, and assist on safety regulations and standards to project management and field personnel.
- Conduct safety training for job site personnel.
- Conduct daily safety inspections to identify, document, and correct safety hazard.
- Conduct accident and incident investigations.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum of five years heavy industrial/utility construction safety experience.
Ability to recognize and correct hazardous situations
Good working knowledge with Federal, State, local and company safety regulations and procedures
OSHA 10, 30, & 500/510 OSHA certifications
BCSP Certified (CHST, ASP) a plus
Excellent communication and training skills to effectively convey safety principles and procedures
Self-starter with strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Valid driver’s license & safe driving record
Basic computer skills (MS word, Excel, Power Point
