GARNEY CONSTRUCTION

An Office Manager position is available in Kansas City, MO. This role will be responsible for maintaining an efficient, productive, professional, and organized office environment. The ideal candidate will strive to ensure our internal and external stakeholders needs are supported, business objectives are met, and smooth operation of day-to-day activities are maintained. To be considered for this position, candidates must have previous office management experience and demonstrated experience managing at least one direct report. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Managing logistics and assembly of corporate packages for timely delivery.
  • Implementing systems to track and maintain organized records for mail and packages.
  • Leading and mentoring direct reports; fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Providing guidance and support to team members; encouraging professional development and growth.
  • Delegating tasks effectively and ensuring team productivity and efficiency.
  • Overseeing equipment, office, maintenance contracts, and partner relationships
  • Managing regular maintenance and repairs of office facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Collaborating on emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Supporting corporate safety initiatives through communication and distribution of corporate safety related items.
  • Maintaining office and department growth projections to support office infrastructure needs.
  • Maintaining office-wide organization, storage, décor, seating charts, key cards, and vehicle tags.
  • Managing office supply inventory levels.
  • Ensuring production room, storage rooms, meeting areas, and common spaces are organized and presentable.
  • Overseeing office layout and space planning to optimize efficiency and functionality.
  • Coordinating office moves, renovations, and expansions as needed.
  • Chairing Garney’s Corporate Events Committee.
  • Participating in local business council meetings.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Innovative mindset with a proactive approach to process improvement and change management.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successfully leading, managing, and motivating direct reports/teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; capable of prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Proven experience as an Office Manager or similar role, preferably in the construction industry or related field.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and documents with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.
  • Proven Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude, capable of thriving in a dynamic construction environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience in leading and managing direct reports.
  • 3 years of experience as an office manager or related role.
  • Notary Public or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
